If your dog’s hair needs to be cut, we ask that you allow four hours so we can wash, dry, and cut the hair thoroughly. Matted hair may take longer. Haircuts done solely with clippers will generally be faster than those requiring hand scissors.

For a quick “in-and-out” grooming, we suggest coming at a specific time, usually first thing in the morning. There may be an additional charge for this expedited service.

If you’d like, we can call you when the groomer is finishing up, allowing you to pick up your dog right away.

To achieve an even haircut, the hair needs to be clean. Therefore, bathing your dog is always part of our grooming service.

Additionally, bringing pictures of your desired style can be helpful.

Mats, or tangled fur, are unhealthy for your dog’s skin. When wet, mats tighten and become uncomfortable. Before washing, we thoroughly brush to remove any mats. However, sometimes mats are too close to the skin for safe brushing.

Dematting, the process of removing mats, can be stressful for both the dog and groomer. It often requires frequent breaks and may reveal underlying skin irritation. If your dog is matted, we’ll discuss your options.

If dematting is possible without causing discomfort, we can attempt to save the coat. This process may incur additional charges which will be consulted and agreed upon with the client.

In severe cases, a shorter haircut may be necessary using clippers to remove the mats.
